P50 6kg Powder Fire Extinguisher – Self-Service
P50 6kg Powder Fire Extinguisher – Self-Service
The self-service P50 6kg powder fire extinguisher is made from robust and corrosion-proof materials, features a unique 10-year warranty and doesn’t require servicing annually by an extinguisher engineer. Instead, you just follow the simple instructions and inspect the extinguisher yourself once a year just to confirm all is okay.
Ideal for workshops, construction sites and more locations, the multi-purpose 6kg powder fire extinguisher is suited to use on Class A, B and C fires, as well as being safe to use on electrical equipment having been tested to 1000V. With an impressive fire rating of 43A 233B C, the self-service P50 extinguisher carries the BSI Kitemark and boasts UKCA, EN3, PED and MED approvals and is supplied with a wall-mounting bracket as standard.
Manufactured in Great Britain by Britannia, each P50 Fireworld fire extinguisher is virtually indestructible as it is constructed of polyethylene and Aramid fibre (Kevlar®). This means it will not corrode like standard steel extinguishers, making them suitable for indoor and outdoor environments whilst remaining lightweight and incredibly durable. With a 20 year lifespan, this requires factory refurbishment at the 10 year mark, which helps to reduce waste and is 100% recyclable at the end of its life.
Inspecting the 6kg Powder P50 Fire Extinguisher is simple, with instructions printed on the back to guide you through and allows you to log the maintenance using a marker pen, plus there is an app available for Google and Apple devices which you can use to register and log annual maintenance. The extinguisher features a pressure regulation gauge and a second one to double-check the first, with a special magnet supplied to check that the two gauges are working.
Suitable for workshops, factories, warehouses, building sites, boats, and anywhere with flammable liquids and gases.
Types of fire include Class A (wood, paper, cloth, etc), B (flammable liquids), C (flammable gas), and fire involving electrical equipment (tested to 1000V).
Anticipated lifespan with indoor use and proper maintenance - 10 years, with an additional 10 years after factory refurbishment.
Please Note: You should still have your new self-service P50 extinguishers commissioned and installed by an extinguisher technician.
The updated British Standard 5306-8:2012 Selection and positioning of portable fire extinguishers – Code of Practice states as follows:
"5.4.3 Use of powder extinguishers: The discharge of a powder extinguisher within buildings can cause a sudden reduction of visibility and can also impair breathing, which could temporarily jeopardize escape, rescue or other emergency action. For this reason, powder extinguishers should generally not be specified for use indoors, unless mitigated by a health and safety risk assessment."
