The extinguisher is made of stainless steel meaning it won’t corrode, and the unique appearance is achieved by hand through an antique brushed copper finish. The multipurpose powder inside means it is suitable for use on many types of fire.
"5.4.3 Use of powder extinguishers The discharge of a powder extinguisher within buildings can cause a sudden reduction of visibility and can also impair breathing, which could temporarily jeopardize escape, rescue or other emergency action. For this reason, powder extinguishers should generally not be specified for use indoors, unless mitigated by a health and safety risk assessment."
Types of fire include Class A (wood, paper, cloth, etc), Class B (flammable liquids), Class C (gas – but never put out a gas fire if the gas cannot be turned off), and is safe around live electrical equipment.
Anticipated lifespan with indoor use and proper maintenance - 10 years.
Special note although the Antique Copper 6kg Powder Extinguisher is made alongside BS EN3 Kitemarked ones and with the same components, as they are not painted red, they cannot display a Kitemark or BAFE approval.
