P50 9kg Powder Fire Extinguisher – Self-Service
P50 9kg Powder Fire Extinguisher – Self-Service
With the self-service P50 9kg powder fire extinguisher, you remove the need to have an annual service visit by an extinguisher engineer as you can instead follow the simple instructions to complete these checks yourself. Made from a lightweight yet robust material which is corrosion-resistant, your P50 fire extinguisher has a 10-year warranty as standard.
Perfect for Class A, B and C fires, it’s also been tested to 1000v so is safe to use on electrical equipment also, and is supplied with a wall-mounting bracket. Making it the perfect fire extinguisher for construction sites, workshops, garages, factories and anywhere else storing flammable liquids, the P50 9kg Powder extinguisher boasts a very impressive fire rating of 55A 233B C. The self-service fire extinguisher bares the BSI Kitemark alongside UKCA, EN3, PED and MED approvals.
Manufactured in Great Britain by Britannia, each P50 Fireworld fire extinguisher is virtually indestructible as it is constructed of polyethylene and Aramid fibre (Kevlar®). This means it will not corrode like standard steel extinguishers, making them suitable for indoor and outdoor environments whilst remaining lightweight and incredibly durable. With a 20 year lifespan, this requires factory refurbishment at the 10 year mark, which helps to reduce waste and is 100% recyclable at the end of its life.
Inspecting the 9kg Powder P50 Fire Extinguisher is simple, with instructions printed on the back to guide you through and allows you to log the maintenance using a marker pen, plus there is an app available for Google and Apple devices which you can use to register and log annual maintenance. The extinguisher features a pressure regulation gauge and a second one to double-check the first, with a special magnet supplied to check that the two gauges are working.
Suitable for workshops, factories, warehouses, building sites, boats, and anywhere with flammable liquids or gases.
Types of fire include Class A (wood, paper, cloth, etc), B (flammable liquids), C (flammable gas), and fire involving electrical equipment (tested to 1000V).
Anticipated lifespan with indoor use and proper maintenance - 10 years, with an additional 10 years after factory refurbishment.
The updated British Standard 5306-8:2012 Selection and positioning of portable fire extinguishers – Code of Practice states as follows:
"5.4.3 Use of powder extinguishers: The discharge of a powder extinguisher within buildings can cause a sudden reduction of visibility and can also impair breathing, which could temporarily jeopardize escape, rescue or other emergency action. For this reason, powder extinguishers should generally not be specified for use indoors, unless mitigated by a health and safety risk assessment."
